DIY Cotton Ball Holder

What in the world? I'm back? Yes! Yes I am! I apologize for my unannounced hiatus, but it was, well, unplanned. Life seemed to happen. But, here we are! Back again! And I have a DIY project to share with you!
I got this idea in part from one of my favorite YouTubers, Missglammorazzi. Check out her video here:

I did a bit of a different version from hers though. Here's the supplies you'll need:

1. Almost- empty candle jar (I used Bath and Body Works, but any will do)
2. Sandpaper
3. Stencil of your choice
4. Spray paint

To get started, you'll need to get the wax out of your candle. Obviously, the less the better. Put the candle in the freezer for at least a few hours. This makes the wax freeze, making it easier to get out. When the wax is frozen, use a butter knife to pry it out. I saved the leftover wax so I could burn it in a burner. BE CAREFUL. The glass may be fragile since it's frozen. I broke one of mine while trying to get the wax out.

When all of the wax is out, peel off any labels and wash the glass. If there is sticky residue left, use vinegar to get it off.

NOW is the fun part! And the part I have pictures of. I recommend doing this portion outside, on a surface you don't mind getting painted.

Now that you have a clean candle jar, it's time to scuff it up!

Sanding the glass will help the paint stick.

Now it's time to position your stencil. Use any kind you want! I decided on a pattern for this one.

I had to do mine in sections since my stencil wasn't big enough. Now, paint away! I also did my lid.

Finally, I decided to glitter-fy mine! This glitter spray is awesome! It just puts a sparkly sheen over whatever you spray it on.

Now, you can put anything you want in it! I used it for cotton balls.

I'm back in action here, I promise! If any of you are feeling creative, give me some ideas on things to try and write about!
