#KingGirlsTakePC + Contest/Giveaway!

Hey y'all! Guess what? It's summer! SO many amazing things have been happening for me and my family! We are taking summer 2014 by storm, and I'm going to try to catch you up on what we've been up to. Here's our first adventure!

To kick off the summer, Mandy and I took an impromptu weekend trip to Panama City. We stayed with our cousins Johnny and Delilah and their precious baby boy, Jemison!

We started out the trip with a dinner at Shoney's! All you can eat? Yes please.

Quick selfies before we officially hit the road...

We got there around 1 am, then the next morning we hit the beach!

So many selfies.

The rest of Saturday, we walked around Pier Park and hung out with sweet Jemison! We also got henna tattoos. I'm not even sorry that I turned into a complete white girl.

We had lunch at Dusty's. Please, if you go to PC, go to Dusty's. It's worth every cent and second you're there.
SO MUCH FOOD

Another selfie.

Then, dinner was at Dave and Buster's. MORE YUM.

The next morning, we spend a while on the beach again before a quick lunch and it was time for me to head home. I left Mandy there for a week.

Jacob was jealous. I told him not to hate. His response?

I was quite sad that I had to leave, but the sunset on the way home was almost worth it.

I'm so thankful that we have sweet family members that let us come visit!

NOW is time for a GIVEAWAY! But you have to work for it.
For those of you that don't know, I sell Mary Kay a little bit on the side. Now, I seem to have some extra products in my possession that some of you may be quite interested in. But I need your help.
You see, I got a tattoo! Here it is:

It's a robin bird! Cause, ya know, my name is Robin.
I NEED HELP NAMING HIM! Or her. I haven't decided.
That's your job. You decide the gender and come up with a name.
I will pick one grand prize winner, and possibly a couple runner-ups if I get a lot to choose from!
Happy Naming Games, and may the odds be ever in your favor.

DIY Cotton Ball Holder

What in the world? I'm back? Yes! Yes I am! I apologize for my unannounced hiatus, but it was, well, unplanned. Life seemed to happen. But, here we are! Back again! And I have a DIY project to share with you!
I got this idea in part from one of my favorite YouTubers, Missglammorazzi. Check out her video here:

I did a bit of a different version from hers though. Here's the supplies you'll need:

1. Almost- empty candle jar (I used Bath and Body Works, but any will do)
2. Sandpaper
3. Stencil of your choice
4. Spray paint

To get started, you'll need to get the wax out of your candle. Obviously, the less the better. Put the candle in the freezer for at least a few hours. This makes the wax freeze, making it easier to get out. When the wax is frozen, use a butter knife to pry it out. I saved the leftover wax so I could burn it in a burner. BE CAREFUL. The glass may be fragile since it's frozen. I broke one of mine while trying to get the wax out.

When all of the wax is out, peel off any labels and wash the glass. If there is sticky residue left, use vinegar to get it off.

NOW is the fun part! And the part I have pictures of. I recommend doing this portion outside, on a surface you don't mind getting painted.

Now that you have a clean candle jar, it's time to scuff it up!

Sanding the glass will help the paint stick.

Now it's time to position your stencil. Use any kind you want! I decided on a pattern for this one.

I had to do mine in sections since my stencil wasn't big enough. Now, paint away! I also did my lid.

Finally, I decided to glitter-fy mine! This glitter spray is awesome! It just puts a sparkly sheen over whatever you spray it on.

Now, you can put anything you want in it! I used it for cotton balls.

I'm back in action here, I promise! If any of you are feeling creative, give me some ideas on things to try and write about!

Young Professional Lookbook- Winter

Hello there! It's been a while, yeah? My life has been CRAZY recently. But, putting that aside, I am quite excited about today's post! Since I have recently entered the working world, I have been putting a lot of thought into what I wear. I know that it seems vain, but here's my thoughts:
I am at least 9 years younger than everyone I work with. That's actually a pretty big deal. So it's important to me to be able to stand out as a younger woman. So, I have worked hard every day to put together outfits that make it known that I am younger, while still looking professional. Because I refuse to wear black slacks and a different three-quarter length shirt every day. Now. Wait. If you wear that, more power to you. But it's not for me, at all. So, here's a few of my favorites that I've put together!

*Quick plug before we start: I made a photography portfolio page. It would mean a lot to me if you checked it out! It should be on the right of my home page.*

The Color Block:
I got this whole outfit at the store Torrid. Now, when I first heard of this store, I ran far, far away. I didn't want to be singled out as a "big girl" that had to buy clothes at a special store. But when I actually went inside the store, I fell in love. This is one of my favorite outfits I own.

I couldn't get the pants in good detail, but they have black lace down the outside of each leg, which is super flattering.

The Summertime Sadness

I have just recently started wearing this outfit, as it gets closer to spring. It is probably still too cold for it, but, hey, a girl can dream, right?

I know that hands in pockets aren't flattering, but IT HAS POCKETS.

The Hipster

This one brings out the hipster in me. I love it. The colors are all perfection, and, of course, I'm obsessed with my boots.

(The tights are purple, if you can't tell.)

God Bless The USA
This one makes me feel all patriotic. I want to apologize in advance, because the pictures aren't great.

I HEART my star denim vest.

Jean Day

I have two outfits that I picked for jean day option. One is more casual than the other.

The first one is the more casual. I actually stole my dad's flannel shirt, hehe.

The next one is less casual, but I'm still rocking the cardigan. Cardigans make my world go 'round. I couldn't live without them. This outfit is also featuring the same black shirt from the color block outfit.

And that is it! I hope you enjoyed, and if you are a young professional like myself, I hope you got some wardrobe inspiration!

Thank you so much for reading!

Friday Night Ritual

Oh, hello! Welcome back! Well, I guess, you should be welcoming me back. It's 2014, everyone! This year has gotten off to a great, but busy, start for me. I am getting settled into my new full-time job as a teller at a credit union. I am always so tired because of the new schedule, but I love my job.
Since the week has a habit of getting tiring and stressful, my Friday nights almost always end in a bath. At the end of the week, the things I use in the bath are different from what I use everyday. You'll see down below what I mean.
Listen. I KNOW that this is Thursday. I'm not crazy. I just really wanted to write this post, and I have plans tomorrow! Sorry!

So, to begin, obviously, I draw up a nice warm bath! It feels so good after you've been out in the cold.

Since I use product in my hair every day, I know that by the end of the week, it is starting to get weighted down. So, I deep-clean it with this (as recommended by Missglammorazzi on YouTube) :

Literally all this shampoo does is strip your hair clean and leave it natural. Since it's a little rough on the hair, I follow up with a deep conditioning masque. This one is a mud masque, and it smells great!

It is recommended that this conditioner stays in your hair for 5 minutes before rinsing. It makes your hair feel super soft and moisturized.

Next, I shave. Now, I have been shaving with conditioner for a while now, and I gotta say, I love it. I don't buy whole bottles specifically for shaving, but, like this one, I will use up the shampoo that goes with it, but more of both, and have half a bottle of conditioner left.

This leaves your legs feeling incredibly smooth and smelling awesome!

My green razor. Not much to say here.

After I'm all hair-free, I follow up with a body scrub from Bath and Body Works. This stuff smells and feels incredible.

After my body, I gotta get my face clean. I start with this stuff, which is a daily scrub and a mask from Boots. At the end of the week, I use it as a 5 minute mask. I get my face as dry as possible, and then apply it, as the instructions say. I leave it for 5 minutes, then rinse! It feels awesome!

Then I follow up with my daily foaming cleanser from the brand Simple. I HIGHLY recommend it.

And that's it for the bath! When I get out and dry off, I finish up my facial cleansing, which normally consists of makeup removing wipes, eye makeup remover, and toner, but I seem to be out of everything but the toner. I usually use Simple cleansing wipes and Maybelline oil-free waterproof eye makeup remover.
This is the toner I use, from Boots. I apply it with exfoliating cotton rounds.

Next, I get all moisturized, using the greatest smelling lotion in the world from Bath and Body Works.

Now, I'm finally ready to put on my pjs and crawl in bed! My mom got me these super cozy pajamas. It's a long flannel button-down, and sort of waffle-textured leggings. I don't wear the leggings to sleep because the shirt is very much long enough, and sleeping in the leggings stretches them out.

Yay for being comfy and cozy!

Now, let's make it the best night in ever.
First, light a candle:
(Party Dress- BBW)

Second, grab refreshments:

Third, put on your favorite VHS:

(HP and the Chamber of Secrets)

Fourth, make your bed all cozy:
(Don't ya just wanna curl up in it?)

Fifth, turn the lights out and write a blog post! (Or do whatever you want to do.)

Hooray! Yay for the weekend!

Thanks so much for reading! I am so excited to get started on writing again for 2014!
