SAVE MONEY!

So, this is just a random, short post because I have some VERY EXCITING news for the ladies! If any of you have ever heard of the company NuMe, you know that their products are great quality, but pretty expensive. Well, one of my favorite beauty gurus on YouTube announced at the end of the video that she has a coupon code that will get you 60% off of your entire purchase! Wooo! Here's my catch, though. I want you to watch her video that she said it in. I am a huge supporter of this girl, and she deserves every single view she gets. So, here's the link. Go check her out, and if you like what you see, subscribe to her channel! I am going to use the coupon code to get a new flat iron. Let me know what you use it for!

Have an AWESOME day, and here's what you would get if you crossed a llama and a Pomeranian.

Harry Potter Halloween Party

Well, it's been a while again, but this time I just can't apologize. The past couple of weeks have been the strangest couple of weeks I've had in a while. I'm not going to go into detail right now, but let's just say I'm glad it's over. To make the craziness a little bit better, I had a Harry Potter Halloween party! Planning that is what has kept me sane lately. This post is going to be about all the details that went into this amazing party.
But first, WE HAVE A WINNER! My new blog name is (obviously) Thoughts of Beauty In Her Head. Thank you to Melyssa Boggan for that suggestion!

Now, on to the PARTAY!
First, for the invitations. There's a sad story about these. I put in A LOT of work on them. First, I dyed the paper

Coffee!!

Stacking them was a mistake. They stuck together.

For this batch, I "baked" them. If you decide to do this, watch them VERY carefully. I set the oven to 200 degrees and put 2 pieces of paper at a time in for about 6 minutes.

The final result.

Well... there was only about a 20% success rate in printing on the pre-parchmented paper. So... I had to print the invites on plain white paper and THEN dye them. So.

This time, I let them air dry.

The finished product was pretty good. Envelope stuffing time!

So, here's the sad part. The date changed. I had to move it up because the high school is doing a play on the date I originally scheduled it. So I didn't have time to mail or even hand all of them out. I ended up having to make a Facebook invitation. What kind of wizard uses Facebook? Gah.

So, when I finally got people invited, it was time to start collecting decorations and making food. I decided to do the foods that are mentioned most in the books and movies. Yes, I said BOOKS. Because people that have only seen the movies won't know about everything I had. *cough* Mudbloods *cough.*

ANYWAYS.
LOTS of groceries. I went to Walmart, Target, and back to Walmart. By the way, these pictures are in the order that I did things. And I am an extremely scatterbrained and random person, so things were done in no kind of order whatsoever.

First, some candy. I used M&Ms to keep them standing up.

Pumpkin juice. I gotta be honest, the stuff tasted like baby food. But it's what Harry liked, so I made it. I got the recipe HERE

Eyeballs in a potion jar, duh.

One of my main dishes was Mrs. Weasley's cornish balls. I kind of made my own version of this up based on a bunch of different recipes. the end result turned out DELICIOUS.

Literally just mix a bottle of grape jelly and a bottle of chilli sauce...

Pour the mixture over frozen Italian Style meatballs and stick them in the crockpot. You're done.

Took a break to do a little decor (AKA vandalizing my mother's living room mirror.) I told you I'd clean it, Mom.

I went ahead and lit my candles to make them look used. I got the candle sticks at the thrift store.

BUTTERBEER TIME! The recipes HERE

Now time for everything to come together! The guests started showing up, so I was rushed taking the pictures. That's why some of them are blurry.

On the dessert table was: licorice wands, acid pops, chocolate eyeballs, Bertie Bott's Every Flavored Beans, bought on Amazon (thank goodness for my Prime membership and free two day shipping!), lemon drops, and cauldron cakes (AKA Little Debbies)! The pumpkin says "Candy provided by Honeydukes."

This was the "main dish" table. the meatballs from before and Kreatcher's French Onion Soup. This was simply Campbell's version.

This table was nothing but decorations. I bought these AWESOME bottles from Michael's and I mixed water, oil, soup, food coloring, and glitter randomly for my "potions." As you can see, the candles are no longer lit. The wind wouldn't stop blowing. Darn nature.

The drinks ended up being Pumpkin Juice, hot and cold Butterbeer, Hot Chocolate, and Polyjuice Potion (Dr. Pepper).

Of course, we had to go a little healthy and the Herbology Department kindly provided us with an assortment of fruit.

Sadly, I focused on candy and drinks too much and we ran out of real food. Oops. Thanks to the tardiness of my great friend Emily Goodall, we got some pizza to fill everyone's bellies.

Now, here's some pictures of the lovely folks that showed up.

BETH!
 And her lovely twin Carla...

Miss Crowe in her Hogwarts robe and failed attempt at Muggle clothes.

Oh yeah! So this cat showed up at my house a day or so before the party and we decided to feed it, so he's been hanging around. He wouldn't let anyone touch him for a long time before he decided he trusted them. For this reason, I've decided to call him Buckbeak.

PJ was a little tired.

Buckbeak took to Mary almost immediately.

That's all the pictures I have. After eating, I sent them on a scavenger hunt to find the seven horcruxes I had hidden around my house. Then, we played a little bit of Harry Potter Scene-It, but some people had to leave, so that was short lived.

I would call the party a success, though there are many things that I will do differently next time. I think now that I've done it, I will know what to do better and what to leave out completely in the future.

For all of my inspiration for this party, check out my Pinterest board

I think I may write another post sometime in the next few days about life in general, so look forward to that!

Thank everyone SO MUCH for your support in this. I would be forever indebted to you if you would share my blog with your friends.

Also, shout out to an old friend for encouragement and advice for my blogging journeys! Giann Hoosier has her own blog, and you should check her out on her page! She's got a few years on me in blogging experience.

I hope everyone has a WONDERFUL Sunday tomorrow! Much love to you all!

September 2013 Favorites

It's October 1st. Like, what? Since when is 2013 almost over? Not that I'm not excited, I'm super pumped about the weather getting cooler and the leaves changing colors. It is finally starting to smell like fall and that makes me extremely happy. Only a few people know what I'm talking about when I say that I can smell fall. No, it's not the smell of the food or the bonfires. The actual air has this sweet, musky smell. I guess not everyone can smell it, but I'm so glad that I can.
Anyway, off that random soapbox.
Now that September is over, I thought I would go over my favorite things from this month.
Let's start with fashion!
I have been LOVING cardigans this month. I have always worn them, but this month in particular, I have realized how much they can add to an outfit. They dress up a normal t-shirt and jeans, or they add a little something extra to a dress or skirt. Sadly, I tried to get a picture of my three favorites, but even after getting all the wrinkles out, they still looked super wrinkly in the pictures. You'll just have to trust me on this one.

I bought my first pair of Keds a few weeks ago, and along with wearing them every day to work, I've been wearing them to hang out with friends and to church on Sunday and Wednesday nights a lot. They are so comfy and super cute!

In my last post, I mentioned the sweatshirt I got at the Fun. concert. Y'all, this sweatshirt is SO SOFT! I wore it with a pair of white shorts and my Keds a while ago, and it was so comfortable. I got it in an XL so it would be even more comfy.

Now for beauty favorites.
In my zoo post, I mentioned how much I loved the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze. The obsession is still going strong. Let me tell you a little story about the first time I wore this stuff.
It was the Sunday of Labor Day weekend, and I wore it to church. After church, we went to the lake for Wyatt's birthday. I wasn't planning on getting in the water, but my lovely brother decided that  he should splash me with the Sea-do a few good times while I was kayaking. If you've ever been splashed with a Sea-do, you will know that you may as well have dunked your head underwater. It's no light splash. Anyway, after all of that, I completely expected my makeup to be smeared, if not completely gone. When I looked in the mirror that night, this is no lie, it was still perfect. After that, I became a true believer in Color Tattoo.

I never thought I would be so stuck on a product that I would sit and write a story about it, but this stuff is incredible.
Along with the Color Tattoo, I have been loving Revlon's Lash Potion mascara. I was wearing this on the lake day as well, and it went nowhere. Plus, I really like the way the tube looks.

(Both of these are products that one of my favorite YouTubers recommended. I'll put her links at the end if you want to check her out.)

Now, obviously, since those last two products can withstand extreme force water, they are pretty hard to get off at night. But not since I found this gem

I have used liquid makeup remover and wipes, but I thought this one looked cool since it's like a gel. Not only does it work perfectly and feel amazing, it smells awesome. I never thought makeup remover could smell good, but if they made perfume that smelled like this, I would buy it.

Speaking of smelling good, I was given some Bath and Body works products as a gift a few weeks ago, and this stuff smells amazing. I use all three things on a daily basis.

Also from Bath and Body Works, I picked this scrub up for half price at the beginning of the month. It smells great and it feels like a massage every time I use it. I limited myself to once a week so it would last longer.

Now for random favorites.
I got a new phone about a week ago! I got the pink iPhone 5c. I honestly didn't think I would like it, but I love it. And of course, I got a cute case from work.

With the phone, of course, came new earbuds. Let me tell you something. The earbuds that came with my first iPod and my iPhone 4 were horrible. I hated them. I had to turn my music all the way up to really hear out of them, they barely fit in my ears, and if you were standing next to me, you could hear what I was listening to as clearly as I could. So I was skeptical about these new ones. Can i just say that my mind was BLOWN? These earbuds are incredible. The sound is awesome and they fit in my ears perfectly. I was going to have to go buy some new ones, but now I have these and they were free with my phone.

So, it's no secret that I LOVE all things pumpkin. To kick off this year's obsession, my cousin bought me these:

Like, I can't stop eating them. You should try them.

And now for music favorites!
These are the songs I've had on repeat for the past month.

Yes, I love the Fox song. I can't get enough of it. It makes me smile.

I know that this is an old song, but seriously, it's amazing. If you don't know this band or this song, look them up right now.

THIS. I love singing it in worship on Sunday mornings, so I had to buy it. I probably listen to this song 6 times a day.

Yes, people. I'm an unashamed Directioner

Last Friday was Homecoming for Chelsea. I still love tailgating and going to the football games, since my brother plays. I had a ton of fun Friday and it was good to see old classmates and teachers.

The food was amazing

The football wasn't too bad, either.

So now on to my human favorites.
The male YouTuber I've been loving this month (actually, I've been loving him all year) is Joey Graceffa. This guy is hilarious and so open. I enjoy his daily vlogs and how he shares the exciting things in his life with us. You should check him out. He's pretty awesome.

The female YouTuber I've been especially loving this month is Zoella. She is hilarious, sweet, and not to mention beautiful.
Links for both of them will be at the end.

My real life human favorites (the ones that I actually know) are these two cuties.

Meet my brother and his precious new girlfriend. He and I have been getting closer as we are getting older and since I'm home from school. I am so happy that he met this sweet girl and I can't wait to get to know her better.

Okay, so I have a contest for ya. I need a new name for my blog, cause I know that six trillion people have a blog called Inside Out Beauty. If you can come up with a more original name, you will win a hug and possibly a drink from the coffee house of your choice.

Alright, folks. Thanks for sticking with me through this. That's all for today. Please show me some love in the comments to let me know that someone is actually reading this stuff.

And here's all those links I promised.
