Well Hello!

Hi there old friends! Long time, no see! I know, it's my fault. I kind of took an unplanned, unannounced hiatus. Oops.

So, I figured, to get back started, I would catch all of you up on my life! I am still moving and grooving at the Credit Union, and loving it! I also started a new chapter in my life called Not Living in my Parents House. Yes, that's right, I, Robin King, moved out of my parents house in July. I have been living that independent life since late July, and let me just tell you: adulting is hard. And from what I've been told, it only gets harder from here. Having said that I wouldn't change my decision if I could. I love my life in downtown Birmingham, I love living less than 2 miles from work, and I love the challenge of having to make it on my own. I have a lovely companion by my side through it all. He name is Penny and she has the floppiest ears you've ever seen.
Yep. That's my girl. She likes to smile, go on walks, hide my shoes from me, and she sneezes when she gets really excited. Oh, and she loves going to Starbucks for a Pupiccino. #basicwhitegirl

While I'd love to tell you every single thing that's happened in my life in the last year and a half, I will save us all some time and skip through the good parts. Actually, no. The important parts. Because, frankly, a lot of the last 18 months hasn't been good. I'm not here to bring anyone down or to spill anyone's secrets, so here's what I will say: spiritual warfare is real and not a single one of us is immune to it. My family experienced true turmoil in 2014. Personally, I learned first hand what real depression is. I learned that it is okay to ask for help when this life gets to be too much to bear alone. I learned that Godly friends are real treasures. And here's what I can say: through it all, God is real, He is faithful, He is gracious, and He is good. To any of you reading this that were there in the darkest points of my life: thank you.

Now. Let's skip forward to the last month. It's December! It's Christmas! How did that happen? I promise just yesterday it was June and I was spending my birthday on the beach. This year has flown by, and this month has been no exception. I have had so much fun spending time with friends and family over the last 22 days, and I can't wait for the next couple of weeks as we go through Christmas and New Years. Here's a recap of December up to this point:

As soon as December 1 was here, the tiniest of Christmas trees was put up in my apartment.

Spent some quality time with some adorable baby cousins....

 Who were uncertain of Penny.

Saw Relient K at Zydeco and realized that I am becoming an old lady that very much likes her personal space.

Decorated my cubicle at work because why not?

Made a tacky Christmas tee...
and wore it to the LBC Young Adult Christmas party (where my team won the blindfolded gingerbread house making contest).

Aubrey made some pretty awesome faces.

Was reminded for the 100000th time that I have the best boss of all time.

Made my first restaurant reservation for the work Christmas party.

Celebrated Christmas and two years at the credit union (WHAT??!?) with my awesome coworkers.

This is the previously mentioned amazing boss AKA Beyonce.

And then there was Caitlin, the best bae there ever was.

Did the family Christmas party thing with my adorable sister.

Got Christmas cards addressed to just me, because I'm a grownup now!
{Let's just pause here and reflect on how STINKING ADORABLE my family is}

Wrapped some presents... As you may notice, I am a huge Grey's Anatomy fan. This gift was for Caitlin, who is the Meredith to my Christina.

Went to the Chelsea Christmas parade, which gets better every year.

Saved these two multiple times from becoming pancakes at the parade. When you're a kid, you're more worried about candy and less worried about the giant float rolling toward you.

Painted Aubrey's nails purple...

Literally the perfect model.

Took Aubrey and Mary to the Shops at Grand River, where it was -28 degrees (just kidding, more like 40. But it was cold).

Where my parents acted like grandparents because that's what they do. Also Aubrey's Mimi and Papa were out of town so someone had to spoil her!

This Christmas season has been a busy one for all of us. I could not be more thankful for the love of family and friends that surrounds everyone this time of year.

Don't forget, as the days get busier and the excitement sets in, the true meaning of this time of year. Always remember that if God had not sent his perfect son to come and live with us sinners, we would have no reason to celebrate,

Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to read this. I really do appreciate it.
Merry Christmas! I love you all!

#KingGirlsTakePC + Contest/Giveaway!

Hey y'all! Guess what? It's summer! SO many amazing things have been happening for me and my family! We are taking summer 2014 by storm, and I'm going to try to catch you up on what we've been up to. Here's our first adventure!

To kick off the summer, Mandy and I took an impromptu weekend trip to Panama City. We stayed with our cousins Johnny and Delilah and their precious baby boy, Jemison!

We started out the trip with a dinner at Shoney's! All you can eat? Yes please.

Quick selfies before we officially hit the road...

We got there around 1 am, then the next morning we hit the beach!

So many selfies.

The rest of Saturday, we walked around Pier Park and hung out with sweet Jemison! We also got henna tattoos. I'm not even sorry that I turned into a complete white girl.

We had lunch at Dusty's. Please, if you go to PC, go to Dusty's. It's worth every cent and second you're there.
SO MUCH FOOD

Another selfie.

Then, dinner was at Dave and Buster's. MORE YUM.

The next morning, we spend a while on the beach again before a quick lunch and it was time for me to head home. I left Mandy there for a week.

Jacob was jealous. I told him not to hate. His response?

I was quite sad that I had to leave, but the sunset on the way home was almost worth it.

I'm so thankful that we have sweet family members that let us come visit!

NOW is time for a GIVEAWAY! But you have to work for it.
For those of you that don't know, I sell Mary Kay a little bit on the side. Now, I seem to have some extra products in my possession that some of you may be quite interested in. But I need your help.
You see, I got a tattoo! Here it is:

It's a robin bird! Cause, ya know, my name is Robin.
I NEED HELP NAMING HIM! Or her. I haven't decided.
That's your job. You decide the gender and come up with a name.
I will pick one grand prize winner, and possibly a couple runner-ups if I get a lot to choose from!
Happy Naming Games, and may the odds be ever in your favor.
